This beautiful bride is Kolo. Kolo was married in December on the Gold Coast and it was hot! We didn’t want to spend more time outside taking photos than we had to so we stayed inside in the air conditioning.
The house that Kolo and her bridesmaids were getting ready in didn’t have a great deal of natural light options but it did have a sun room with a lovely textured yellow wall, which suited the bride’s complexion (it wouldn’t work for everybody!). The sunlight wasn’t actually coming into the room but there was plenty of light. Perfect conditions!
So we got these lovely bridal portrait shots. And a great one of the page boy!
If you are on photographer duty for a wedding and you need some lovely, soft portraits of the bride, look for somewhere that has indirect sunlight, you may be surprised to find what works well is a seemingly small space. I was standing outside the door taking these pictures.
Also look for other useful spaces. The bridal gown was hanging in the wardrobe which happened to have a window – it created this lovely dreamy shot.
